Job Description Summary

Performs direct field labor activities under the guidance of Team Leaders and Managers to support project delivery and service operations. Responsible for the installation, setup, configuration, and commissioning of HVAC equipment and control systems using established processes and standards. Provides operational support by applying troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve system issues, while assisting senior technicians in field service activities. Supports Operations & Maintenance (O&M) field activities as required to ensure customer satisfaction and system reliability.

What You Will Do

  • Execute field installation, startup, configuration, and commissioning activities for HVAC equipment and related control systems.
  • Support project delivery teams in implementing HVAC solutions in accordance with engineering specifications and project requirements.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving equipment, controls, and system-related issues at customer sites.
  • Perform testing and verification of system performance to ensure proper functionality and compliance with project standards.
  • Support preventive and corrective maintenance activities under O&M contracts.
  • Work collaboratively with customers, contractors, and internal teams during project execution and service delivery.
  • Maintain accurate service records, commissioning reports, and project documentation.
  • Follow all Johnson Controls safety procedures, quality standards, and operational processes.

How You Will Do It

  • Utilize standard commissioning and configuration tools to install and start up HVAC systems.
  • Diagnose equipment and control system issues using established troubleshooting methodologies.
  • Assist senior technicians with system integration, testing, and customer demonstrations.
  • Coordinate field activities with project stakeholders to support timely project completion.
  • Escalate complex technical issues to Team Leaders or Managers when required.
  • Ensure customer concerns are addressed promptly and professionally.

What We Look For

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation Engineering, or a related field with 1+ year of relevant experience; OR
  • Diploma/Associate Degree (2-year degree) in a related technical discipline with 6+ years of relevant experience; OR
  • Equivalent combination of education and industry experience.
  • Basic to intermediate knowledge of HVAC equipment, control systems, and field commissioning practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and project documentation.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and customer interaction skills.
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites as required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS) or HVAC controls.
  • Knowledge of HVAC commissioning, maintenance, and service operations.
  • Familiarity with industry communication protocols and control system integration.
  • Experience working in a customer-facing field service environment.
