Job description

 

AMETEK is seeking a Human Resources Intern to provide part-time administrative and operational support to the HR function at our Waterbury, CT facility. This role will assist with day-to-day HR activities and projects while gaining hands-on exposure to core human resources processes. The position reports directly to the Human Resources Manager and is intended for a candidate who can work part-time during the school year.

 

What You Will Do: 

The HR Intern will assist with a variety of ongoing HR activities, including but not limited to:

  • Supporting employee engagement initiatives and coordinating employee events
  • Assist with planning and supporting community outreach initiatives, including employee volunteer activities and local events
  • Assisting with HR projects and departmental initiatives
  • Supporting onboarding and offboarding processes, including documentation and system updates
  • Maintaining and updating employee data in the HRIS, including organizational changes and new hires
  • Assisting with recruiting activities such as job postings, interview scheduling, and candidate tracking
  • Supporting the coordination and administration of HR training sessions
  • Updating and revising job descriptions as needed

Other tasks may include:

  • HR data entry and HRIS administration
  • Assisting with HR audits and reports
  • Supporting compliance-related tasks
  • Assisting with the implementation and documentation of HR policies and procedures
  • Providing general administrative support to the HR team

 

What We Are Looking For:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Human Resource Management, or related field.
  • Ability to work part-time during the school year and part-time during academic breaks (preferred)
  • Ability to communicate in Spanish preferred (verbal).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Willingness to learn, ask questions, and support routine HR operations
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to use AI tools to improve productivity, decision-making, work quality, and to reduce costs. The successful candidate must be able to identify appropriate AI use cases and critically evaluate AI-generated outputs.
