Your role at St John of God Midland Hospital

The Human Resources Advisor provides practical, responsive and trusted HR advice and support to managers and caregivers across St John of God Midland Public Hospital. Working as part of the onsite HR team, the role supports a broad range of workforce matters including employee relations, performance management, grievances, workplace investigations, workforce planning and organisational initiatives.

The Position

  • Build trusted and effective relationships with managers and key stakeholders across St John of God Health Care

  • Provide practical HR advice and coaching to managers on a broad range of workforce and employee relations matters.

  • Support managers to develop strategies that strengthen culture, caregiver capability, engagement and workforce effectiveness.

  • Coordinate caregiver recognition initiatives, including Caregiver of the Month, Caregiver of the Year and Going Beyond Team Awards, and work collaboratively with the Mission team to support key caregiver events including Foundation Day and St John of God Day.

  • Support the management of employee relations matters including performance management, performance improvement plans, grievances, workplace investigations and fitness for work matters.

  • Partner with Industrial Relations and other specialist Workforce teams on complex matters where required.

  • Support injury management, workers compensation, flexible work and non-work related fitness for work matters in collaboration with relevant specialist teams.

  • Use workforce data and HR analytics to identify trends, inform decision-making and support operational improvement.

  • Contribute to workforce projects, organisational change and other HR initiatives.

You will have a tertiary qualification in Human Resources or a related discipline, together with sound generalist HR knowledge and experience gained within a complex workplace environment.

You will be confident building relationships with leaders, providing practical advice and managing competing priorities. You will bring strong interpersonal, communication and influencing skills, sound judgement and the ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively as part of a supportive HR team.

Experience supporting employee relations, performance management, workplace investigations or grievance matters will be highly regarded.

This is an opportunity to join an experienced onsite HR team supporting a diverse and complex hospital environment. The role provides broad exposure across operational HR, employee relations and workforce initiatives, with the opportunity to work closely with managers.

  • Salary: $107,200 to $119,100 per annum plus 12% superannuation
