The HSE Specialist is responsible for overseeing all aspects of building functions and guarantees the safety and functionality of all facilities. Duties include running routine safety inspections, corresponding with contractors, planning maintenance work, maintaining records, and supervising facilities staff. The incumbent is required to be well-versed in facilities management processes and exhibit high multitasking and organizational abilities.
Responsibilities:
The following list of responsibilities is not all inclusive, additional projects and/or tasks may be assigned to meet operational needs. MCG retains the right to change or assign other duties to this position should operational needs warrant.
Incident Management & Prevention
- Leading and supporting the reporting, investigation, and prevention of incidents.
- Responding to injuries and near misses
- Conducting root cause analysis
- Tracking corrective actions
- Sharing lessons learned
- Monitoring TRIR, DART, and other KPIs
Support employee awareness, participation, and safe behaviors.
- Delivering safety training
- Leading toolbox talks
- Coaching supervisors
- Reinforcing stop work authority
- Encouraging hazard reporting
Risk Identification & Control Implementation
- Identify workplace hazards and ensure effective controls are implemented and maintained.
- Conducting risk assessments and job hazard analyses
- Performing inspections and audits
- Supporting LOTO, MHE, fall protection, electrical safety, etc.
- Ensuring compliance with OSHA and company standards
- Recommending corrective actions

- Bachelor’s degree in: Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, Engineering or related field.
- 2–5 years manufacturing or industrial experience.
- Experience with:
- LOTO
- MHE / Forklift compliance
- HAZCOM
- Contractor safety
- Permit-to-work systems
- Root cause analysis training
Preferred Skills
- OSHA 29 CFR 1910 familiarity
- Hazard identification and risk assessment
- Incident investigation fundamentals
- OSHA recordkeeping (300 log)
- Basic environmental compliance awareness
- Report writing
- Data tracking / KPI management
- Microsoft Excel / reporting tools
- Ability to interpret regulations
