Apply to this jobOur client is a highly successful, expanding company who are keen to secure the recruitment of an HSE Officer to set the standards for Occupational Health and Safety to achieve and maintain BS HSAS 18001 accreditation. Your general accountabilities will entail:
- Providing continuous improvement in HS&E standards
- Setting the framework for an effective environmental management system
- Ensuring working practices are safe and comply with company policies and legislation
- Development of an HSE policy and manual
- Carrying out regular Risk Assessments to check that policies and procedures are being adhered to
- Ensure all employees receive appropriate levels of HSE training
- Advise on a range of specialist areas such as fire regulations, hazardous substances, noise, etc
- Set up and lead the HSE committee
- Implement robust first aid policies and accident investigation procedures
- Engagement with employee groups to solicit feedback on HSE
Our client is ideally looking for someone suitably qualified in HSE who is confident enough to set up policies and procedures. You should have a sound knowledge of HSE legislation as well as managing HSE in a process manufacturing environment. You should also be confident in setting up formalised training programmes and have sound influencing skills. Knowledge of manufacturing is preferred.
