Summary

Within the Health, Safety & Environment and Maintenance department, we are looking for an HSE Engineer. You are an important link in the (further) development, implementation, and execution of the safety policy at the campus in Etten-Leur. You are someone who gets energy from improving and expanding safety operational procedures. You have strong knowledge of risks, control measures, and how to drive change. Continuously improving the safety culture is something you are passionate about. You also have a strong interest in behaviour, perception, and their influence on safety culture.

If this position appeals to you and you have a strong interest in technology, particularly in the manufacturing industry, we look forward to your application.

The Role

  • You will develop and manage safety training programs for onboarding new employees

  • You will organize inspiring toolbox meetings and provide practical safety instructions

  • You will analyze and manage records of work-related accidents and absenteeism, deliver statistical analyses, and develop effective health and safety measures

  • You will conduct workplace safety audits and establish measurable standards to support continuous improvement, including effective follow-up

  • You will present your findings and analyses during management team (MT) meetings

  • You will play an active role in various HSE committees

Your Profile

  • You have a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and more than 2 years of relevant work experience

  • You hold an MVK (Intermediate Safety) diploma or are willing to obtain one

  • Work experience in a production environment is a plus, particularly to understand risks related to mechanical production equipment and risk assessment

  • You have strong verbal, written, and organizational skills in both Dutch and English

  • You understand and speak “the language of the shop floor” and can coach employees on improvement points

  • You have experience with health, safety, and environmental projects (during your studies)

  • You have experience with compliance audits and documenting improvement processes

  • You have strong analytical and reporting skills; you are structured and hands-on

  • You have excellent computer skills (MS Office, Adobe)

What We Offer

  • A competitive salary, depending on experience

  • A year-end bonus of 5% and 8% holiday allowance

  • Training and development opportunities, such as MVK certification
