This dual-role position combines core HR generalist responsibilities with hands-on ownership of full-cycle recruiting. The HR Generalist & Recruiting Coordinator supports day-to-day HR operations — including employee relations, performance management, benefits administration, and compliance — while also driving the recruiting lifecycle from job posting through offer. This role is a key point of contact for both employees and candidates, ensuring HR programs run smoothly and hiring pipelines stay healthy, all while balancing priorities across two functional areas.

Key Responsibilities:

HR Operations & Employee Relations

  • Serve as a point of contact for employee questions on policies, benefits, and HR processes
  • Address workplace issues and help resolve conflicts professionally
  • Support a positive workplace culture and employee engagement initiatives
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HRIS data
  • Support onboarding and offboarding processes, including paperwork, orientation logistics, and exit interviews
  • Generate HR reports and analyze workforce data
  • Support payroll processing in collaboration with finance/payroll teams

Performance Management

  • Assist with performance review processes and goal setting
  • Provide guidance to managers on employee development and corrective action
  • Track performance metrics, review cycles, and maintain documentation

Benefits & Compensation Administration

  • Administer employee benefits programs (health, retirement, leave) and support open enrollment
  • Respond to benefit inquiries and support enrollment processes
  • Assist with compensation benchmarking and salary administration

Compliance & Policy Management

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
  • Assist in drafting and updating the employee handbook and HR policies
  • Support audits and ensure accurate recordkeeping

Recruiting & Onboarding

  • Own full-cycle recruiting: job postings, requisition management, sourcing, screening, interviewing, and offers
  • Post job openings and manage requisitions across job boards and the ATS
  • Screen resumes and conduct initial phone screens
  • Schedule interviews and coordinate communication between candidates and hiring managers
  • Maintain candidate pipelines and ensure a positive candidate experience throughout the process
  • Assist with offer letter preparation and background check coordination
  • Partner with hiring managers to identify staffing needs
  • Support employer branding efforts (careers page content, job fairs, social media postings)
  • Track recruiting metrics (time-to-fill, source of hire, pipeline conversion) and report to the Recruiting Manager
  • Conduct new-hire onboarding and orientation

Cross-Functional & Administrative

  • Partner with the HR Manager and Recruiting Manager to prioritize competing deadlines across HR and recruiting workstreams
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee and candidate information
  • Assist with special projects and process improvement initiatives as assigned

Qualifications:

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field helpful
  • 2–5 years of experience in HR, recruiting, or a related generalist role required
  • Knowledge of HR principles, employment laws, and recruiting best practices
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and written/verbal communication skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive employee and candidate information with discretion
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities across two functional areas without close oversight
  • Proficiency in HRIS/ATS systems and Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred Qualifications

  • PHR/SHRM-CP certification (or in progress)
  • Experience in a multi-state or fast-paced work environment
  • Familiarity with UKG Ready is a plus
