Essential Duties and Responsibilities

HR Manager and Employee Relations for HQ

Responsible for the Dusseldorf site and having one HC full responsibility, the HR BP will ensure local compliance and administrative duties are performed timely and accurately, being:

  • First point of contact for employees on a range of HR topics, e.g. benefits, policies, in line with company values.
  • Responsible for all HR employee life cycle processes in the HRIS (Workday), from new starters, changes, leavers to enable accurate payroll processing and maintenance of accurate electronic people data.
  • Coordinate outsourced payroll management and liaison ensuring information is correct and within relevant payroll cut-off dates.
  • Manage HR related vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and ensure value for the organization.
  • Oversee pension scheme management and process improvement for the company’s legacy Defined Benefit pension scheme as well as the new Defined Contribution pension scheme.
  • Production of offer letters and all items relating to new starters including the co-ordination and liaison of the reference checking process, car policy processes etc.
  • Ensure that all aspects of compensation and pay management are appropriately administered, including the annual salary and incentive review process through Workday, working with the wider HR team to ensure a smooth reward process.
  • Liaising with the relevant benefit providers to ensure that colleagues are enrolled into the relevant benefit scheme such as pension, insurance, etc.
  • Ensure processes associated with absence and leave including maternity, paternity, holiday/time and labor and sickness, are dealt with in a timely manner.
  • Own the local employee handbook and polices and ensure updates to policies are maintained in line with legal compliance (GDPR).
  • Responsible for managing communication and events such as local Townhalls or employee relations.

 Strategic HR Business Partner

Drive the following strategic initiatives and processes in accordance with Marmon Foodservice strategies and local needs, to include but not limited to:

  • Talent Acquisition and Onboarding Process for new employees
  • Employee Engagement and Retention, initiate feedback sessions and develop action plans for continuous improvement
  • Contribute to the development of a robust succession pipeline, identification and follow up on key development actions through the facilitation of the Talent Review process bi-annually.
  • Successfully run the Performance Management process for (e.g. goal setting, mid-year/annual review process, performance improvement and development planning)
  • Diversity and Inclusion initiatives and metrics are operationalized throughout the talent acquisition, employee engagement and promotional processes.
  • Advises on Organizational design principles and delivers organizational changes

EIMEA Learning & Development Responsible

Representing regional Centre of Expertise for the EIMEA Learning & Development strategy and execution.

Learning & Development planning:

  • Identify skill gaps and training needs through thorough assessments and analysis.
  • Manage a L&D budget, to effectively prioritize external training requests.
  • Create a yearly training calendar that caters to the specific needs of employees across the region.

Training Delivery and Facilitation:

  • Conduct training sessions and workshops for employees at all levels, ensuring engagement and knowledge retention.
  • Ensure that training sessions are interactive, informative, and encourage active participation.
  • Evaluate training outcomes and effectiveness, making improvements as needed.

Evaluation and Metrics:

  • Generate reports and data analysis on the success of training programs and their impact on employee performance and organizational goals.

Vendor Management:

  • Collaborate with external training providers and vendors to source specialized training programs when required.
  • Manage vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and ensure value for the organization.

  

Required Qualifications, Skills/Competencies

  • Strategic HR experience and sound knowledge of best practice (including current employment law) is essential (professional qualification desirable or equivalent experience demonstrated)
  • Experience with HR Operations in Germany (minimum 5 years).
  • Knowledge and understanding of statutory requirements associated with HR Operations in Germany.
  • Experience of payroll and pension management in Germany.
  • Strong people influencing skills with an ability to inspire the highest levels of performance from all levels
  • Highly developed interpersonal and influencing skills with a demonstrable ability to build and maintain effective relationships, positioning yourself as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders
  • Highly organized with ability to plan, prioritize and multitask daily service/ work requests.  
  • Experienced user of Microsoft Office and HRIS (Workday strongly preferred).
  • A strong commercial focus and the ability to build long-term relationships
  • Strong knowledge of instructional design and adult learning principles.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Flexibility and willingness to get more responsibility.
  • Analytical and project management abilities.
  • Willingness to travel within the region as needed for projects and meetings.
  • Fluent in German and English

Preferred Qualifications, Skills/Competencies

  • Proven experience in project or program management, with successful delivery of key initiatives on time and on budget. Project management certification or clearly demonstrated experience, would be advantageous.
  • Deep knowledge and understanding of Defined Benefit Pension Schemes in Germany.
  • Experience of leading and evolving processes, systems and driving change within complex organizations
