Housekeeping Assistant

An exciting opportunity has arisen in Linn Moor Campus to carry out housekeeping and related tasks to identified standards so as to contribute towards the delivery of a quality service designed to meet the needs of the service users with the Campus.

The post will be term time only (38 weeks), Monday to Friday. 9.30am - 1.30pm (negotiable)

Main Roles and Responsibilities

• Carrying out general housekeeping tasks in the assigned groups as directed to agreed work schedules and agreed standards.
• Maintaining preparation and cooking areas, utensils and equipment in a clean condition which satisfies health, safety and food hygiene regulations.
• Operating machinery and equipment according to instructions, with particular attention to safety rules.
• Using cleaning agents properly according to instructions.
• Carrying out any other duties which may be required from time to time provided the tasks are both reasonable and within the post-holders capabilities.

Qualifications/Training/Education:

Essential:

• Willingness and ability to undertake additional training as appropriate to the role.

Desirable:

• Infection control training
• Manual handling training

Essential:

• Ability to communicate with others
• Close attention to detail
• Ability to work as part of a team or own initiative meeting demands of cleaning schedules
• Ability to respond to changing needs as directed by line manager

Other Job Requirements:

Ability to work in an environment with service users who demonstrate challenging behaviour and able to respond effectively to challenging behaviour and use and train in Behaviour Support Strategies (BSS)
