About Our Family

We are an active, warm, and close-knit family of four based in DeBary, Florida. We relocated from out of state about a year ago and are in the process of building our local support system and settling into a new rhythm. Our household is busy and full of life — we have two school-aged kids, a large friendly dog, an outdoor cat, and our days move fast.

Both parents keep busy professional lives — one runs a business from home, and the other recently stepped back from running a company to focus on family while beginning to re-engage professionally. Between two active kids, regular travel, and a home with a lot of moving parts, we're ready to move from just keeping things afloat to building real structure into our everyday — and we know that takes a dedicated person who can truly own it.

We're looking for someone who can become a trusted partner in helping our home run smoothly and proactively — anticipating needs, managing the details, and giving us back some of our energy. We value warmth, honesty, and a calm, capable presence, and we want someone who feels like part of the family. We're the kind that will send you home with dinner, and we genuinely appreciate the people who support us.

Who You Are / What We're Looking For

You're the person who owns the details — proactive, resourceful, and calm under pressure, with a project manager's mindset for household life. Three things matter most in this role: keeping the family fed with thoughtful, ready-to-eat meals, staying ahead of inventory and errands so the house never runs short, and bringing handyman-level attention to everyday upkeep — catching small things before they become bigger problems.

You're reliable, punctual, and a clear communicator who researches an issue, orders what's needed, and gets it handled without being asked twice. You're comfortable with technology, and open to using tools for research and troubleshooting.

You're warm and easy to be around — comfortable with teenagers and a trustworthy, positive presence in their lives — and you adapt well when plans shift.

Key Responsibilities

Household Organization & Maintenance

  • Create and maintain household organization systems
  • Daily resets and light tidying (dishes, surfaces, high-traffic vacuuming) in preparation for biweekly cleaners
  • Coordinate donation drop-offs
  • Event, holiday, and guest prep — including preparation of the guest house for visitors
  • Packing and unpacking support for family travel
  • Routine upkeep: replace batteries, light bulbs, smoke detector batteries, and sensors as needed

Inventory & Errands

  • Manage running household supply lists and restock pantry, fridge, and household essentials
  • Manage household orders and subscriptions (Amazon, Walmart)
  • Handle mail and package intake, returns, and box breakdown
  • Gift shopping and coordination of birthday cards and family occasion logistics

Meal Support

  • Plan and prepare dinner 3-4 times per week, ready to heat or eat meals
  • Prep lunches three times per week for both kids and parents
  • Grocery shopping and pantry stocking
  • Follow clean eating guidelines: organic whole foods
  • Kitchen cleanup and maintenance after all meal prep

Vendor & Property Oversight

  • Oversee and coordinate existing vendors: biweekly house cleaners, lawn care, pest control, pool service, HVAC, and landscaper
  • Research, coordinate, and obtain quotes for repairs and new vendors (including identifying a reliable handyman)
  • Conduct routine property walkthroughs to flag maintenance needs or issues

Laundry & Linens

  • Wash, fold, and organize laundry
  • Ironing, steaming, and special garment care as needed
  • Linen rotation: strip beds ahead of cleaner days so the cleaners can make beds with fresh linens
  • Maintain a tidy and well-stocked laundry area

Family Support

  • Occasional afternoon school pickups between 3–6 PM
  • Light supervision and homework help as needed
  • Occasional overnight care when parents are traveling
  • Kid-related errands and transportation to activities, including occasional weekend tournament transportation (up to 2 hours away, coordinated in advance)

Vehicle Upkeep

  • Schedule and accompany family vehicles to maintenance appointments
  • Track vehicle registration and insurance
  • Keep family vehicles fueled, clean, and organized

Deep Cleaning & Special Projects

  • Occasional deep cleans of areas the regular cleaners skip: refrigerator, oven, baseboards
  • Refresh and organize garage, mudroom, and entryway areas
  • Change HVAC air filters on a quarterly schedule
  • Organizational projects: closets, pantry, filing, gear, and storage areas

Administrative & Personal Assistant Support

  • Manage household and family calendar, including school schedules and appointments
  • Event and appointment coordination
  • Track personal expenses using a dedicated card (no broader household budgeting required)
  • Support with personal email organization and inbox management as needed
  • Travel planning and logistics support

Pet Care

  • Transport the family dog to the dog nanny when the family is traveling; potential occasional dog sitting
  • Administer the dog's daily morning medication when dog sitting (owner typically handles this)
  • Schedule and transport to vet and grooming appointments
  • Refill the outdoor automated cat feeder as needed when the family is away
  • Maintain all pet supplies (food, treats, and related items)
