TITLE:                Host - Aerie Restaurant

LOCATION:       Cliff Lodge at Snowbird

STATUS:           Year-round, hours vary based on business needs

SCHEDULE:     Afternoon/evening shifts. Must be available to work weekends and holidays.

SUMMARY

As a host you will facilitate exemplary dining experiences by warmly greeting and seating guests, using names when possible, and maintaining a smooth operation using a waiting list or reservation program.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Greeting guests warmly upon arrival, making them feel welcomed and comfortable.
  • Managing reservations — taking and confirming reservations over the phone or online, and handling walk-ins during peak and off-peak times.
  • Coordinating seating arrangements — using a table management system or floor chart to assign tables strategically, balancing server workloads and maintaining good table turnover.
  • Providing menus and answering initial guest questions about specials, hours, or directions.
  • Estimating and communicating wait times accurately to guests, especially walk-ins.
  • Managing the waitlist — keeping track of guests in line and updating servers on table availability.
  • Escorting guests to their tables, presenting menus, and introducing servers or providing brief orientation.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organization of the host station, dining area, and entryway.
  • Communicating with servers and staff about table needs, guest status, and any special requests.
  • Handling guest complaints professionally and ensuring satisfaction.
  • Processing payments and providing change when needed.
  • Assisting with cleaning tasks during busy periods to keep the restaurant running smoothly.

WHAT YOU NEED TO GET THE JOB DONE

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • 0-6 months of job-specific work experience with demonstrated competence.
  • Must be 18+
  • Food Handler Permit.
  • Demonstrate competency in operating dish machines and chemicals
  • Requires some exercise of judgement within policy guidelines and without supervisory approval. 
  • Requires problem solving and initiation of activities within job description and have a strong understanding of other Snowbird operations.

SCHEDULE

  • Hours vary based on business needs
  • This restaurant is only open in the evenings for dinner so you will be working evening shifts.

  • Must be able to lift 30 lbs
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time
