Job description

OVERVIEW

Join our pharmacy team and build your career while working alongside experienced pharmacists dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care. In this role, you'll gain hands-on experience preparing and dispensing medications, supporting patients and healthcare providers, managing pharmacy operations, and contributing to a safe, organized, and collaborative environment.

Schedule: Monday - Friday (no weekends, holidays)

Shift: 7 AM - 3:30 PM

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES  

  • Works under direct supervision of pharmacists and other pharmacy staff to learn the skills needed to become a pharmacy technician.
  • Assists in preparing, stocking and distributing medications.  These tasks may also include procuring, measuring, compounding (sterile and non-sterile), counting, and delivering medications.
  • Fills prescription/medication orders.
  • Maintains inventory and restocks items in the pharmacy.
  • Performs administrative tasks such as updating records, keeping the pharmacy clean and organized, and handling billing and insurance documentation.
  • Responds to the requests of patients and healthcare providers and refer various inquiries to the Pharmacist.
  • Complies with rules, regulations and procedures to help maintain a clean and safe pharmacy.
  • Obtains a working knowledge of the functionality of all equipment and technology in the department.
  • Appropriately triages phone calls and takes detailed phone messages. 
  • Demonstrates professionalism in behavior, appearance and interactions.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE  

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred

CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE                    

IL applicants: License is required.

WI applicants: Registration is required.

$16.89 - $31.68
