Heavy Equipment Operator

Where will you work: Onsite South Fort Meade (5880 Manley Road, Fort Meade, Florida 33841 )

The Heavy Equipment Operator will operate heavy machinery for earth moving, phosphate plant & mining preparation & excavation projects. 

What you'll do:

• Operates construction, excavation, hauling equipment including, but not limited backhoes, front-end loaders, bulldozers, excavators, or grade tractors.

• Perform work sites for land clearing & excavation.

• Uses excavating machinery to dig holes, trenches & earth moving efforts.

• Transports tools, pipe & equipment to and from work sites.

• Operates machinery used in preparation for phosphate mining in the field & product inventory management in/around the plant.

• Inspects & fuel equipment for shift.

• Report the need for routine maintenance and repairs.

• Operate heavy equipment in close to proximity to people.

• Performs other related duties as assigned.

• Maintain necessary documentation.

What you'll need:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

• Previous heavy equipment operation preferred.

• Extensive knowledge of heavy machinery operation and capabilities.

• Ability to read & Interpret mine plans.

• Ability to follow instructions.

• Prolonged periods of operating heavy machinery.

• Able to work long periods including shift, evenings and weekends when necessary.

• Must be able to operate machinery in all weather conditions and terrains.

• Must be able to lift 25 pounds at a time.
