Heavy Equipment Operator

🚜 Now Hiring: Equipment Operators – Heart of Florida Landfill
📍 Lake Panasoffkee, FL

We are currently seeking experienced, safety‑conscious Equipment Operators to join our team at Heart of Florida Landfill. Prior landfill or waste experience is a big plus, but we’re willing to train the right candidate who brings a strong work ethic and willingness to learn.

✅ Schedule: 5am-4:30pm and 7am-6:30pm | Monday–Friday with occasional Saturdays
✅ Hours: 45–55 hours per week
✅ Pay: $24–$26+ per hour DOE

🔧 Key Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance around the site and facility

• Spread and compact trash using a Compactor

• Apply daily cover using a Dozer

• Excavate soil with an Excavator

• Haul soil as needed

🌤 Working Conditions

• Outdoor landfill environment

• Work near moving mechanical parts

• Exposure to wet/humid conditions, vibration, fumes, or airborne particles

• Clean, well‑lit, and ventilated areas

✅ What We’re Looking For

• Experience operating a forklift, dozer, or articulated dump truck preferred

• Ability to learn and safely operate site‑specific equipment independently

• Willingness to follow PPE requirements and safety protocols

• Team‑oriented mindset with flexibility to take on new responsibilities

• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions

• Ability to lift 50 lbs repeatedly
