Job description
We’re looking for an experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our team working on heavy and commercial vehicles. This is a hands on role for someone who takes pride in quality workmanship and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Scheduled servicing of heavy and commercial vehicles
- Repairs to braking and steering systems
- Overhaul, rebuild, and repair of modern diesel engines, transmissions, and drivetrains
- COF / VCA preparation
- Diagnostic fault finding
- General industry‑related mechanical tasks
- Crane service and repair experience will be an advantage
- Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe work environment
What We’re Looking For
- Qualified Diesel Technician (Level 4 or equivalent)
- Minimum Class 1 clean driver’s licence (willing to progress to Class 4/5)
- Strong diagnostic and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
- Strong commitment to health and safety
- Own well‑equipped toolbox
- Good written and verbal communication skills
Additional Information
- Applicants must be currently based in New Zealand and legally entitled to work in New Zealand
- A pre-employment drug and alcohol test is required
- Immediate start available, or negotiable for the right candidate
