We are now looking for a Health, Safety and Environment Manager to join our Adhesive Materials team in Biskupice Podgórne, Poland.

What you will do

  • Drive the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of best-in-class occupational health, safety, and environmental (HSE) practices, ensuring full alignment with legal requirements, UPM’s global standards and Global Safety Initiatives

  • Proactively assess and anticipate site-specific safety needs; design and lead strategic initiatives to elevate safety performance, ergonomics, and health awareness across all operations

  • Partner closely with plant leadership and cross-functional teams including Global Safety Organization to embed a proactive safety mindset and strengthen a culture of accountability and care

  • Lead and optimize audit and inspection processes to ensure ongoing compliance with Polish legislation and UPM’s internal standards

  • Champion and coordinate impactful HSE training programs, ensuring all employees are equipped with the knowledge and tools to work safely and responsibly

  • Own the end-to-end process for incident reporting, root cause analysis, and transparent communication, ensuring timely corrective actions and shared learning

  • Maintain and continuously improve documentation systems related to workplace incidents, safety protocols, and hygiene standards

  • Stay ahead of regulatory developments and lead the implementation of necessary changes to maintain compliance and operational excellence

  • Inspire, guide, and develop a high-performing team of HSE specialists, fostering collaboration and professional growth

Who you are  

  • You hold a degree in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent higher education/postgraduate studies, as required by Polish Health & Safety service regulations

  • You bring at least 5 years of relevant experience in health and safety roles, preferably in a dynamic manufacturing or industrial setting

  • You are a proactive leader with a passion for safety and a track record of driving measurable improvements

  • You demonstrate strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills

  • You are well-versed in ISO management systems, particularly ISO 14001 and ISO 45001, and leverage them to drive operational excellence

  • You possess excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Polish and English

The position is located in Biskupice Podgórne.

The position holder will report to General Manager, Wrocław Factory.
