You need not have run a department before, but you should have a track record of good and outstanding practice as a Maths Teacher, with strong behaviour management, particularly at GCSE level.

The ideal Maths Teacher will have raising attainment across all key stages at the forefront of their teaching philosophy. As Head of Maths the school will expect that you should already have the ability to create and lead a team of teachers, installing motivation and communicating good practice throughout the department.
