We are seeking an accomplished and strategic Head of Legal to lead the organization's legal function and serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership. This role is ideal for an experienced legal professional with deep expertise in real estate, infrastructure, or construction law, who can balance business growth with legal compliance, governance, and risk management.

As the Head of Legal, you will oversee the organization's legal strategy, commercial transactions, land acquisition, litigation, compliance, and governance frameworks. You will work closely with senior leadership to support strategic business initiatives, provide commercially sound legal guidance, and build a proactive legal function that enables sustainable growth while protecting the organization's interests.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the organization's legal strategy in alignment with long-term business objectives.
• Serve as the primary legal advisor to executive leadership on strategic, commercial, regulatory, and governance matters.
• Provide legal support for land acquisitions, project development, commercial contracts, partnerships, and strategic business transactions.
• Lead legal negotiations and structure complex commercial agreements while balancing business priorities with legal and regulatory requirements.
• Oversee litigation, arbitration, dispute resolution, legal due diligence, title verification, and transaction documentation.
• Establish robust contract management processes, legal governance frameworks, and documentation standards across the organization.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws, statutory regulations, and industry-specific legal requirements.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate legal risks across business operations, commercial activities, and project execution.
• Manage external legal counsel, government authorities, regulatory bodies, and other key stakeholders to ensure effective legal representation and support.
• Lead legal support during audits, regulatory inspections, investigations, and compliance reviews.
• Build and mentor a high-performing legal team while driving operational excellence, knowledge management, and process improvement initiatives.
• Promote a culture of integrity, accountability, compliance, and continuous improvement across the legal function.

What Makes You a Great Fit

• 15+ years of progressive legal experience, including leadership roles within the real estate, infrastructure, or construction sectors.
• Strong expertise in land acquisition, property law, commercial contracts, litigation, dispute resolution, and legal risk management.
• In-depth understanding of legal and regulatory frameworks governing real estate development, infrastructure projects, and commercial transactions.
• Proven experience leading legal teams and managing external legal counsel on complex, high-value business matters.
• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to provide practical, business-focused legal advice.
• Demonstrated success in negotiating strategic agreements and supporting major business initiatives.
• Extensive experience establishing governance frameworks, compliance programs, and legal operating procedures.
• Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, negotiation, and influencing skills.
• Strong analytical and strategic decision-making abilities with a proactive approach to legal risk management.
