Head of iOS

At Plata, we are building one of the most ambitious financial products in the world. Our mobile application is at the center of our customer experience, serving hundreds of thousands of users and growing rapidly.

We are looking for a Head of iOS who will lead the iOS direction across the company, combining technical excellence, organizational leadership, and product mindset. In this role, you will be responsible for the delivery, quality, and technical execution of your teams, while contributing to the broader iOS engineering strategy.

You will work closely with the Head of Mobile, product, design, and business leaders to ensure the iOS mobile application continues to scale while maintaining exceptional user experience and engineering quality.

Challenges that await you

• Lead and develop stream of iOS engineers, including tech lead and staff engineers
• Own the iOS engineering strategy, architecture, and technical roadmap
• Drive architectural decisions and ensure the scalability, reliability, and maintainability of the iOS platform
• Establish engineering standards, development practices, and quality processes for the team
• Improve engineering productivity through automation, tooling, and CI/CD
• Partner with product and design to deliver outstanding customer experiences and balance technical investments with business priorities and goals
• Support team growth through hiring, onboarding, mentoring, and succession planning 
• Stay hands-on: participate in code reviews, technical design, and complex problem-solving
• Participate in Engineering department-wide management initiatives
• Foster a culture of ownership, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the iOS team

What makes you a great fit

• Proven experience leading iOS engineering teams and units
• Strong hands-on background in iOS development 
• Experience managing tech and/or team leads
• Deep understanding of software architecture, scalability, and maintainable mobile apps
• Experience building or scaling an iOS team in a fast-growing environment
• Strong delivery and execution mindset combined with strategic thinking
• Experience improving engineering productivity through automation and process optimization
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to influence technical and organizational decisions independently, while collaborating with the Head of Mobile on cross-platform matters
• Comfortable operating in fast-changing environments and taking ownership end to end
• English proficiency at B2 level or higher for effective collaboration with an international team
