Position Overview

We're seeking an experienced Head of Engineering to lead our growing engineering team and drive the technical execution of our groundbreaking sleep technology products. This is a hands-on leadership role perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced startup environment and is passionate about using technology to solve real human problems.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Management

• Lead and mentor a team of engineers and developers
• Conduct performance reviews, career development planning, and team building
• Foster a collaborative, innovative engineering culture
• Scale engineering processes and practices as the team grows

Technical Execution & Project Management

• Oversee product development roadmaps and sprint planning
• Ensure timely delivery of high-quality software and hardware solutions
• Coordinate cross-functional collaboration between engineering, design, and research teams
• Implement agile development practices and continuous improvement processes

Hiring & Talent Development

• Lead technical recruiting efforts and hiring decisions
• Design interview processes and technical assessments
• Build talent pipelines for engineering roles

Strategic Collaboration

• Work closely with CEO on technical strategy and product vision
• Translate business requirements into technical specifications
• Report on engineering progress, timelines, and resource needs
• Contribute to company-wide strategic planning

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of engineering experience with 2+ years in technical leadership
• Proven track record of managing and scaling engineering teams
• Strong background in both software development and hardware engineering
• Experience with agile development methodologies and project management
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in health tech, medical devices, or consumer electronics
• Expertise in embedded systems, IoT and mobile application development
• Previous experience at early-stage startups or scale-up companies
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements for health/medical technology
• Experience with data science, machine learning, or signal processing
