Government Accounting and Controls Specialist 


As a key member of the Financial Controls, Planning and Analysis team, this role will oversee the overall Government Compliance requirements. The position will have primary day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing, managing and controlling all Government Compliance related activities for the site.

Primary Responsibilities Include:

Manage and assist with the completion of UTAS Business Systems compliance reviews as needed to ensure compliance.

Conduct site risk and self-assessments to ensure adequate controls are in place and adhere to all required Government Compliance initiatives.

If identified, participate in remediation and corrective action planning for any Government Compliance control deficiencies.

Ensuring the site understands and complies with Government Reporting / DCAA requirements.

Establishing and maintaining a strong relationship with the Site Leadership and DCAA / DCMA.

Maintain the site Disclosure Statement and provide senior management with advice on the financial implications/cost impacts of business activities related to Government Contracting.

Completion of key USG deliverables including Forward Pricing Rate Proposals, Incurred Cost Submissions, and others as required.

Ensuring policies and procedures comply with applicable DFARS and Cost Accounting Standards and that sufficient controls are in place to ensure compliance.

Coordinate with the Government Compliance Manager to proactively meet all Internal requirements with regard to Compliance.


*Education / Certifications
Bachelor's Degree. Maters in Business or Accounting and/or CPA highly desirable
*Experience / Qualifications
5-7 years in progressively responsible roles within Aerospace and Defense Industry with strong Government Contracting experience.

PC proficiency is essential (Windows environment) including a strong working knowledge of EXCEL and PowerPoint.

Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the organization.

Strong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.

High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.

Strong team building, people management and people development skills.



5+ to 7 years experience

Minimum Education - Bachelor's Degree
