The Opportunity
Hitachi Energy offers with the mission critical communication product line products and solutions for operational telecommunication networks being part of the critical infrastructure of a country (such as electrical power grids or railways). For this Hitachi Energy is looking for a Product Manager focusing on the Network Management and cyber security offering for Operational Telecommunication Solutions built with our mission critical communication portfolio.

In this position you will collaborate closely with different stakeholders within the same business unit as well as other members of our company and strategic external partners to move the story forward by defining the product offering of our Network Management System as well blueprints and reference architectures for secure OT solutions.

Furthermore, you will be a part of the Hitachi Energy Cyber Security community and drive the cyber security strategy of the mission critical wired communication product line.

How You'll Make an Impact

  • You will be responsible to drive our Network Management System offering to the next level. As a part of this you will supervise the market continuously for solutions and products being relevant for our system offering or influencing our roadmaps
  • Support business results by overseeing all steps in the product, system or service life cycle including development, launch, maintenance, pricing, and profitability. As a part of the PM team ensure homogeneous end to end offering of entire wired communication portfolio
  • Coordinates and supervises the product road map. Defines and oversees recovery plans as necessary, coordinates with other PM colleagues on the overall offering and functionality
  • You will work out the cyber security needs and aspects on product and system level
  • You will drive the cyber security aspects of our products and solutions and workout strategies on how to increase revenue streams from cyber security activities
  • You will be responsible for sharing knowledge of our products and solutions with our globally distributed organization as well as collect product and system relevant market information from the same. You will process this information and sharing of the same within the Product Management community and other departments such as sales and marketing
  • You will cover market needs and application knowledge for defined segments
  • You will define go to market strategies how to address different segments in collaboration with other stakeholders involved
  • You will initiate and accompany market relevant cyber security certifications


Your Background

  • You hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Telecommunication, Computer Science, electrical engineering, Software Development or equivalent
  • You bring 5+ years of experience with operational telecommunication or IT systems in a similar position
  • You bring profound knowledge in Network Management Systems and Cybersecurity, ideally in operational telecommunication environment
  • You are an excellent communicator and experienced in stakeholder management with different levels of seniority
  • You are fluent in English and German or French, any other language is an asset
  • You are able to master complex problems independently and with limited amount of information, present the results and motivate others to follow you
  • You can combine the technical aspects of operational telecommunication networks (or IT) with customer needs and business potential
  • You can develop new businesses opportunities and offerings and push this to the market
  • Even though not having direct reports you can lead others to deliver what you request from them and lead as such the implementation of new functionality and solutions
