Responsibilities:

  • Drive the development and implementation of the global HSE strategy, ensuring alignment with the requirements of the chemical industry.
  • Ensure compliance with global, regional, and internal HSE standards and regulations (e.g., OSHA, ISO 14001, ISO 45001); internal auditor qualification is a plus.
  • Maintain and continuously improve the global HSE management system through audits, risk assessments, and environmental risk analyses across international sites.
  • Support and develop local HSE teams while promoting a global "Zero Harm" culture focused on the safety of people and the environment.
  • Analyze HSE performance metrics, derive improvement measures, and provide management reporting and presentations.
  • Lead sustainability and environmental footprint reduction initiatives, manage HSE communications and external audits, and act as deputy to the Global Head of HSE.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in chemistry, process engineering, safety engineering, or similar.

  • Several years of professional experience in HSE management in the chemical or process-based industry.

  • Sound knowledge of relevant legal regulations and standards (e.g., chemical law, hazardous substances regulations, environmental law).

  • Experience in handling hazardous materials and implementing safety concepts in production environments.

  • Strong intercultural competence and experience in working with international teams.

  • Business fluent in English and German, both written and spoken.

  • Willingness to travel internationally (approx. 30–40%).
