FX/MM Operations Specialist

Your job  

As an FX/MM Operations Specialist, you are responsible for delivering accurate, timely, and client-focused operational support across the Financial Markets trade life cycle. You proactively identify potential issues, take ownership of questions and escalations, and help ensure that services are delivered first time right. 

You will work closely with Financial Markets Sales and Trading colleagues to provide counterparties with high-quality operational support and a reliable client experience. 

Your key responsibilities will include: 

• Monitor and process the trade life cycle for FX and MM trades
• Execute payment processes, including agreed netting and payment exception handling
• Ensure payments are executed on time, manage manual exceptions, and act as gatekeeper for FM/GT payments
• Resolve queries related to Financial Markets products, services, and operational processes
• Build and apply expertise in Foreign Exchange and Money Market products, systems, and end-to-end process flows
• Handle amendments, cancellations, and urgent queries related to payments and confirmations
• Provide second-line support to other operational teams, including hubs
• Contribute to internal and external initiatives, including continuous improvement, strategic change, and regulatory change. 

Your work environment 

You will work in the dynamic and international environment of Financial Markets, with a focus on Foreign Exchange and Money Market products. While daily responsibilities require individual ownership, the team works closely together to resolve issues and deliver tasks in a timely and reliable way.

We are looking for candidates with a background in Finance, Economics, or a technical trading environment with a operational focus. Interest in Financial Markets and client service is a pre. Your personal profile 

• 7+ years’ relevant working experience within the Financial Services industry generally or, preferably, in Financial/Capital Markets specifically

• Educational background in Finance, Economics, or a technical trading environment

• Fluent in English and Dutch; an additional European language is a plus

• Proven ability to contribute to change initiatives across operational, commercial, and IT domains

• Strong knowledge of Financial Markets products, services, and the European regulatory environment

• Knowledge of Financial Markets IT applications, such as Murex and Calypso, is a plus

• Strong knowledge on international payments messaging (swift).
