Job Description Summary

The Federal Work Study (FWS) Student Worker in the Office of Alumni Engagement will play an important role in supporting the daily functions of the department. This position involves assisting with administrative tasks, providing excellent customer service to alumni via phone, email, and in-person interactions, and contributing to event preparation and outreach efforts. The ideal candidate is dependable, professional, and enthusiastic about building connections within the Saint Leo University community.

Job Description

Primary Responsibilities

  • Assist with day-to-day office tasks, including answering phones, responding to emails, creating flyers, and supporting social media efforts
  • File, scan, and maintain alumni records
  • Support departmental projects and general administrative duties
  • Assist staff during key university events such as Student Welcome Week, Alumni Weekend, and Commencement
  • Perform other duties as assigned
     

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Familiarity with Canva
  • Understanding of major social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, X/Twitter, LinkedIn)

Skills:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Social media and computer literacy
  • Professionalism and reliability
     

Abilities:

  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
  • Willingness to learn new skills and software programs
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Ability to lift, move, push, or pull up to 25 pounds

Qualifications:

  • Must be eligible for Federal Work Study
