Overview:
The Café Lead is a highly skilled and customer-focused individual responsible for the complete operation of the Scheels Café. This role involves performing all restaurant functions, from preparing a variety of food and drinks to managing inventory and overseeing daily operations. The lead ensures all food safety and cashier guidelines are followed, maintains a high standard of cleanliness, and assists in training new associates.

Compensation/Scheduling:
Compensation for this position starts at $17.00 per hour depending on experience, average work hours are 41 hours per week. Day-time availability between 8:30 am and 5:00 pm is required.
Responsibilities:
- Perform all Café restaurant functions, which may include deli line, barista, grill, ice cream, baked goods, fudge, and other duties as assigned per Café ASL
- Maintain working knowledge of Café recipes and prepared foods
- Follow all food safety guidelines by Scheels, State, and Local Ordinances
- Ensure all products are received and stored according to Standard Operating Guidelines
- Prepare different types of food, drinks, and ingredients
- Ensure Scheels Cashier Guidelines are followed as it pertains to Café registers
- Manage and support side work, stocking, daily and detailed cleaning schedules, and opening and closing procedures
- Make decisions about the purchasing of inventory, the arrangement of merchandise, and sales trends to meet or exceed Scheels' standards
- Assist in training all new associates using kitchen tools, mentor checklists, and Standard Operating Guidelines
- Maintain an orderly and exceptionally clean appearance of personal workspace and surrounding areas
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to work assigned schedule, which may include varied hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays
Education & Experience:
The ideal candidate will have a high school education and 1-3 years of related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Physical Requirements/Lifting Requirements:

Must be able to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation.
Heavy work – Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
