Position Summary: Co-trainer of the Understanding and Responding to Child Trauma and Secondary Traumatic Stress/officer wellness curriculums for Rhode Island law enforcement. This includes developing content, assisting with local training logistics, and facilitating virtual and in-person training of law enforcement on child trauma and co-response. Family Service of Rhode Island serves as an ongoing resource for law enforcement across the nation interested in becoming trauma-informed, implementing FSRI’s GO TEAM® co-responder best practice model, and partnering with community-based organizations to mitigate the effects of childhood trauma exposure and reduce the risk of revictimization.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice or human services field preferred. However, FSRI will consider any combination of education, experience, and training.
- Two to five years related project management experience required. Excellent organizational, communication, and presentation skills required.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, take initiative, and work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Former law enforcement strongly encouraged to apply.
- FSRI greatly values language capacity.
- Bilingual skills are compensated by an additional 6%, above base pay.
- Multilingual skills are compensated by an additional 8%, above base pay.
- This position requires periodic local travel up to 25% time.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license, proof of automobile insurance, and reliable transportation required.
