In this vital role, you’ll conduct rigorous quality checks throughout the supply chain, maintaining exceptional standards of product quality with a keen eye for detail.  Tricks of the trade

• Inspecting fruits and vegetables: Conduct quality checks on incoming and stock fruit & vegetable products, assessing freshness, defects, shelf life and compliance with Picnic specifications.

• Making quality decisions: Assess whether products can be accepted, rejected or require follow-up actions, based on objective quality criteria, Picnic specifications and customer impact.

• Investigating quality issues: Investigate issues related to fresh produce quality, labelling, packaging and customer complaints to understand root causes and prevent recurrence.

• Collaborating with stakeholders: Work closely with Buying, Supply Chain and Operations to identify quality risks and ensure our fresh products meet customer expectations.

• Ensuring compliance: Verify proper handling, food safety requirements and cold chain standards throughout the supply chain.

We're looking for

• Ability to work independently and make consistent quality decisions in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong attention to detail and a passion for fresh fruit and vegetables.

• Available for the following shifts (week days and weekends included); 06:00–15:00, 09:00–18:00 (most common), 14:30–23:30.

• Good level of English; Dutch is a plus.

• 1+ years of experience in quality control, quality assurance or fresh produce operations is desired.

• A driving licence and access to your own car.

• Background related to food, agriculture, horticulture or a relevant field is a plus.
