Foundry Employee Level 2 – Close Up

Shift:1st

Location: Thomson, Georgia

FSLA Status: Hourly

Reports To: Foundry Supervisor

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Adhering to environmental health and safety regulations
  • Reading and understanding work instructions
  • Completing appropriate paperwork to ensure accuracy and accountability
  • Rigging and operating up to 40,000 pounds with an overhead crane
  • Testing mil thickness of paints to ensure a quality casting
  • Analyzing molding and casting defects to suggest corrective action
  • Removing pouring boxes, rails, and weights from poured molds
  • Stacking poured molds
  • Promoting good housekeeping
  • Inspecting daily to proactively prevent downtime of tools and equipment
  • Stopping off molds and cores
  • Inspecting molds with a snake eye or mirror to ensure mold is read to receive molten metal
  • Operating the mold handler/manipulator to close up dirt molds
  • Assembling flasks for close up
  • Setting finalized molds and flasks on the pouring floor

Education: High school diploma or GED

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequently:
  • Standing, walking, sitting, bending, squatting, stooping
  • Lifting, pushing, and pulling <75 lbs.
