Forward Deployed Engineer (all genders)

Join our growing Roland Berger AI Lab to turn high-value ideas into working (Gen)AI solutions—quickly and safely. In this client-facing role you will lead use-case ideation workshops, derive business & technical requirements and deliver PoVs and pilots that can graduate to production.

Your day-to-day will involve coding in Python, building agentic workflows, fine-tuning models, conducting evaluations, and integrating data/tools via secure APIs- You will also design and integrate MCP solutions, ensuring seamless integration, observability and versioning. Collaborating closely with Backend, DevOps, and Architects, you will deliver secure, scalable, and observable deployments across Azure, AWS, GCP and on-premise environments.

• Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent experience
• 3–6 years experience in GenAI engineering with delivery to end users
• Proficiency in Python engineering for data processing and ML: clean code, typing, tests, packaging, profiling, code quality assessment
• Expertise with AI agents: orchestration, tool-calling, prompts-as-code and safe tool execution
• Experience with fine-tuning models, dataset preparation, and evaluation using metrics and regression suites
• Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub,GitLab,Azure DevOps, Docker) and cloud deployments (Azure, AWS, GCP)
• Proficiency in MCP integration: implementing servers/clients, defining schemas, and ensuring secure tool access (RBAC/ABAC)
• Familiarity with data access and integration (SQL/NoSQL/object stores, vector databases, graph databases), event/async patterns, caching, performance and cost awareness
• Excellent communication skills in English
