Your role at St John of God Bunbury Hospital

St John of God Bunbury Hospital is seeking an experienced Food Service Supervisor to support the Food Service Coordinator and Kitchen Supervisors in the day-to-day operation of our busy hospital kitchen.

This frontline leadership role where you'll supervise a dedicated team of Food Service Attendants, ensuring patients receive safe, high-quality meal services while maintaining exceptional food safety and compliance standards.

About the role

Reporting to the Food Service Coordinator, you will:

  • Lead and support the Food Service Attendant team on a daily basis.

  • Ensure patient meals are delivered safely, accurately and on time.

  • Maintain high standards of food safety, infection prevention and workplace hygiene.

  • Assist with staff recruitment, induction, training and ongoing development.

  • Support performance management through coaching, mentoring and constructive feedback.

  • Assist with staff rostering and annual leave planning in conjunction with the Hotel Services Administrative Officer.

  • Monitor compliance with hospital policies, HACCP requirements and quality standards.

  • Work collaboratively with nursing staff, dietitians and the wider hospitality team to deliver outstanding patient care.

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to an efficient, positive workplace culture.

  • Provide hands-on operational support across all areas of the kitchen as required.

About you

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Previous supervisory experience within catering, hospitality, food service or healthcare.

  • Strong leadership and communication skills.

  • The ability to motivate, coach and develop a diverse team.

  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.

  • A thorough understanding of food safety and hygiene requirements.

  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards.

  • A commitment to outstanding customer service and patient care.

  • Confidence using computer systems and completing compliance documentation.

  • Salary: $71,369 to $72,635 (pro rata for part time), plus 12% superannuation

  • Two permanent part time positions available
