Job description

We're seeking a Fleet Electrician to be responsible for the diagnosis, repair, installation, and maintenance of electrical and electronic systems across the fleet. The role ensures that all vehicles operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with manufacturer and regulatory standards.

This position plays a key part in minimising downtime by resolving electrical faults quickly and maintaining high-quality workmanship.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Electrical Diagnostics

  • Identify and troubleshoot electrical and electronic faults using diagnostic tools, wiring diagrams, and telematics data.

Repairs & Maintenance

  • Repair or replace wiring, lighting systems, alternators, starters, batteries, sensors, control modules, and other electrical components.

Telematics & ECU Support

  • Install, configure, and maintain telematics devices, ECUs, and onboard electronic systems.

Preventive Maintenance

  • Conduct routine inspections of electrical systems to prevent failures and ensure roadworthiness.

Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure all electrical work meets safety regulations, manufacturer specifications, and legal standards.

Breakdown Support

  • Provide roadside electrical diagnostics and repairs when required.

Documentation

  • Complete accurate job cards, inspection reports, and electrical repair records.

Collaboration

  • Work closely with mechanics, workshop supervisors, and fleet operations teams to prioritise repairs and communicate technical findings.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify recurring electrical issues and recommend

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Someone with:

  • Certificate or diploma in Heavy Duty Truck electrical courses (NVTI) with 05 years’ experience minimum in equipment maintenance and repair

  • Team player, well organized, energetic, and problem solver

  • A self-starter with sense of urgency and time management

  • Basic maritime or logistics business knowledge

  • M&R cost

  • Fuel cost

  • HSSE adherence
