As the Fit Model, you will be assisting the Product Teams in determining garment practicality, functionality, and consistency of overall fit.

By supporting Patagonia to achieve fit consistency, you are improving the customer’s experience with Patagonia product, and reducing the environmental impact of our product creation process.

Getting the customer the right fit directly impacts our mission to be in business to Save Our Home Planet by reducing shipping, materials, and number of products produced.

What You’ll Do:

The job of the fit model is to describe the wearer's experience.

• You will try on a variety of garments and provide detailed feedback when prompted.
• You may be asked for several different movements while fitting (i.e., sitting down, bending over, reaching overhead.)
• You are expected to comment on how the garment feels and how it functions (i.e., try on the hood, put your hands in your pockets, try the zippers/buttons, etc.)
• Product partners may need to adjust or pin the garment on the child or can work with the parent to make necessary adjustments depending on comfort level.

What To Expect in Fittings:

Time Commitment:

• All child fit models are hired into Workday as Patagonia seasonal employees and may work for several months up to a year, depending on how quickly they outgrow the size.
• All fittings will be scheduled by the product developer in advance, and we always attempt to work around the child and parents’ schedule.
• We fit on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, or Thursdays, however, a Monday or working Friday can be accommodated when necessary.
• Fit time will be dependent on the number of styles and ranges between 15 minutes to 1 hour. Breaks are taken as needed and dictated by the child.

Location:

• We meet onsite in person in the designated fit room on the Patagonia Brooks campus. A parent or guardian must be present.
• We will provide a private changing area for the model to get dressed. The parent or guardian will dress the infant or toddler and the kid’s models will often dress themselves.

Photo and Video:

• Fittings are recorded to allow for remote work capabilities and to limit the number of people in attendance for the live fit session.
• Photos are taken and shared in the Teams chat and are uploaded to our server. These are internal only and viewed by cross-functional partners on the designated Product teams. These photos are often taken using personal devices of Patagonia employees for ease of upload into our internal channels such as Teams and Outlook.

Compensation and Benefits:

• Compensation is $60 per hour. We pay in 15-minute increments (ex. 15 min. fitting = $15.00, 30 min. fitting = $30, 45 min. fitting = $45.00).
• Models are encouraged to sign up for direct deposit and are paid on a bi-weekly basis.
• Models are eligible for a product discount in any Patagonia storefront if they are present at the point of sale.

Who You Are

• A child who is currently wearing or growing into a Patagonia size 12mo.
• Fit Models are expected to measure within tolerance of our Core Body Target measurements (measurements will be taken regularly to track how the child is growing and compares to our target.)
