<p>The <strong>Prince William–Manassas Regional Adult Detention Center (ADC)</strong> is an accredited public safety agency dedicated to providing secure, safe, and humane services for the citizens of <strong>Prince William County, the City of Manassas, and the City of Manassas Park.</strong></p><p>With approximately 400 employees, the ADC’s mission is to provide a safe, secure, and humane environment for inmates while supporting the justice system and protecting the community. The agency values professionalism, integrity, and accountability in every aspect of its operation.</p><p>The ADC is seeking a Fiscal Technician (Inmate Accounts Clerk) to join a team responsible for maintaining the financial records of incarcerated individuals. The candidate selected will perform a variety of routine accounting operations to ensure completeness and accuracy of data.</p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul type="disc" style="margin-bottom: 3pt"><li>Reviews financial information and documents for accuracy, completeness and compliance with applicable policies and procedures and audit standards.</li><li>Daily cash handling responsibilities to include counting currency and coin, money orders and certified checks and credit card batch deposits.</li><li>Make withdrawal transactions on individual inmate accounts.</li><li>Audit accounts, research discrepancies and make corrections as needed.</li><li>Performs routine clerical, scanning and filing duties.</li><li>Provides excellent customer service to include resolving issues and responding verbally and in writing to various requests and inquiries.</li><li>Performs other related duties as assigned.</li></ul><p><strong>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:</strong></p><ul type="disc" style="margin-bottom: 3pt"><li>Working knowledge general accounting principles and bookkeeping practices.</li><li>Strong customer service skills.</li><li>Ability to self-audit.</li><li>Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities.</li><li>Ability to work with computers and necessary software programs used by the ADC.</li></ul><p><strong>IDEAL CANDIDATE HAS:</strong></p><ul type="disc" style="margin-bottom: 3pt"><li>Demonstrated experience in cash handling</li><li>Experience working in the accounting field, preferably within a government environment</li><li>Keen attention to detail</li></ul><p><strong>MINIMUM EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:</strong><br> High school diploma or G.E.D. and 1 year of related.</p><p><strong>SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS:</strong><br>Typical hours are 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday (<strong>37.5 hours per week</strong>).<br> <br><strong>HIRING RANGE: </strong><br> $28.73 to $34.19 hourly<br> <br><strong>***Starting hourly rate is based on verified related work experience. May also require exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
