Accountabilities:

    The Financial Educator supports patients by providing clear financial guidance, managing insurance-related processes, and ensuring accurate account information throughout the care experience. The role requires strong collaboration, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering compassionate service.

    • Educate patients on healthcare benefits, insurance coverage, financial responsibilities, and available payment options.
    • Perform benefit verification activities and support prior authorization processes when required.
    • Serve as a patient advocate and liaison, providing ongoing financial assistance and guidance throughout treatment.
    • Maintain accurate patient accounts by collecting, documenting, and updating insurance and financial information.
    • Review payer remittance advice, including allowed charges, contractual adjustments, denials, and patient responsibility amounts.
    • Communicate effectively with patients, insurance providers, physicians, and internal teams to resolve financial questions.
    • Support a high-quality patient experience through responsive service and accurate information management.
    • Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive patient and healthcare information in accordance with privacy requirements.
    • Requirements:

      The ideal candidate brings healthcare administrative experience, strong communication abilities, and the capacity to manage complex insurance and financial information in a patient-focused environment.

      • 2+ years of experience in a medical business office environment, including knowledge of healthcare billing, collections, insurance benefits, and patient interactions.
      • Experience interpreting payer remittance advice and understanding patient financial responsibilities such as copays, coinsurance, deductibles, and claim adjustments.
      • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
      • Experience working in an OB/GYN or fertility healthcare setting is a plus.
      • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate professionally with patients, healthcare providers, insurance companies, and internal stakeholders.
      • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex information clearly.
      • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing priorities independently in a remote environment.
      • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
      • Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to empathy, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
