Our scalable platform uses cutting-edge patient and doctor-facing applications, as well as an extensive provider network to connect our users to doctors and nurses as required.

About the role

  • As the Finance Manager, you will be the leader within the business working closely with the founders and the founding team jumpstart, grow and scale the finance function. At the beginning you will need to get stuck in and be hands on with everything, from understanding our current financial processes, tweaking our financial model, whilst at the same time leading on the strategic elements of the role. Ultimately, you will be responsible for everything from attracting the right talents to the finance team, steering financial management and budgeting right through to the management of details around our financial processes and controls. Furthermore, now that the seed round is behind us and in conjunction with the CEO, COO, and CoS, the Finance Manager will be responsible for preparing the documents and numbers needed for  investor reporting and in future fundraising discussions. As this role is essential to the organization, vital candidates come with a track record of delivery and proven experience, preferably in fast-moving environments or other startups in the MEA region.

Core Duties - List of responsibilities

  • Oversee the company’s financial strategy in alignment with the company’s stated mission and strategy.
  • Lead the financial management, cost control and cash management of the company. Oversee day to day financial reporting and closing activities.
  • Drive the annual planning process including setting the annual budget and forecasting processes with the various members of the leadership team.
  • Develop and maintain the business’ Financial & Forecasting Model for external (investors’) and internal use.
  • Keep pulse on the business and ensure accurate and timely production of financial analysis and forecasts, providing clear insights and identifying opportunities that help drive the operational and business performance and accountability.
  • Maintain effective internal controls that comply with the requirements of the business, auditors, and other tax and statutory legislation and reporting.
  • Build and lead an effective finance team, and provide mentorship and guidance to its members on their work deliverable and individual development plans and career trajectories.

About You

  • Proven finance leadership experience leading a team of 3 - 5 people, ideally in a start-up or high growth business.
  • Experience FP&A, MI, financial systems, cash management, financial reporting and regulatory reporting.
  • Experience in financial modeling and in leading and implementing budget and forecasting cycles.
  • Team-oriented; enjoys working with colleagues at all levels of the organization, with competent people-management skill sets.
  • Entrepreneurial mind-set, seeing what needs to be done and even if you don’t have the answer, you can figure out how to get there. This ranges from day-to-day processes right up to large strategic initiatives.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and agile in approach to requirements from a fast moving and growing business and the ability to manage stakeholder expectations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels within the business from junior team members right up to founders and investors, both in writing and verbally.
