To strengthen our team, we are looking for a Field Service Engineer (m/f/d), preferably based near Basel, with experience and knowledge in atomic spectroscopy (AAS, OES and mainly ICP-MS), to join us.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide on-site customer support for installation, implementation, maintenance, and repair of company and multi-vendor systems, including hardware, software, networking products, operating systems, and integrated solutions, with a primary focus on atomic spectroscopy systems (AAS, OES, main focus ICP-MS)
  • Install, configure, and optimize system components at customer sites while diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and network performance issues
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure system reliability and minimize downtime, proactively addressing potential issues before they impact operations
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by advising on system configurations, preventive maintenance practices, and performance optimization strategies
  • Deliver fully integrated solutions as designed, including peripherals, communications, operating systems, and application software
  • Serve as a technical resource internally by managing escalations and collaborating with Support, Sales, Marketing, and R&D teams to resolve customer issues
  • Provide technical training, workshops, and knowledge transfer to field engineers and customers, including occasional calibration and hands-on support for high-volume accounts
  • Maintain compliance with all required customer and vendor credentialing requirements to access customer sites, including certifications, identification, and health and safety standards

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a scientific discipline such as chemistry, analytical chemistry, biochemistry, biotechnology, or a related field, with strong expertise in atomic spectroscopy / ICP-MS or related techniques, or an equivalent qualification
  • Additional experience in molecular spectroscopy would be beneficial
  • At least 4 years of relevant professional experience
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Flexible and willing to provide on-site customer support as required
  • Experience in a laboratory environment or with Agilent products is considered an advantage
  • Strong proficiency in German and English; knowledge of French is an advantage

This job has a full time weekly schedule. It includes the option to work remotely.
