Job description

An exciting development opportunity is available for a Service Technician looking to take the next step in their career. We are seeking expressions of interest for a field‑based Service Technician role located in the Goldfields region - Kalgoorlie.

This is a unique opportunity to work autonomously in a regional environment while supporting a diverse customer base and a wide range of equipment.

Key Responsibilities

The primary focus of this role is to provide breakdown support, servicing, and planned maintenance across a broad range of equipment, including diesel and LPG forklifts with lift capacities from 1.8 to 16 tonnes, as well as exposure to battery electric forklifts.

You will be a pragmatic problem solver with a strong results focus, excellent attention to detail, and a high level of customer service.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing onsite repairs across a wide range of material handling equipment
  • Responding to breakdowns within Kalgoorlie, Esperance, and surrounding areas
  • Undertaking diagnostic and fault‑finding work
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with customers within the territory
  • Collaborating with internal technical support teams to deliver effective maintenance outcomes

This role requires a high level of autonomy. You will need to be confident in your technical ability, decision‑making, and Crown product knowledge to be successful in this regional environment.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as a forklift technician
  • Proven ability to work autonomously, particularly in remote or regional locations
  • Strong technical knowledge and diagnostic capability
    • Experience with large‑tonnage diesel equipment is highly desirable
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and a commitment to high‑quality preventative maintenance
  • Strong alignment with HCA’s Safety Culture, where safety is the highest priority
  • Effective communication and customer service skills, with the ability to build long‑term relationships
