Field Application Engineer

BASIC FUNCTION:

a. Provide technical and design assistance for the Bourns Portfolio of Products and Solutions to the sales team, channel partners and end customers within a defined territory.

b. Create demand for all Bourns Products & Solutions through the creation of new opportunities, design in’s and design wins within a defined territory.

c. Provide market feedback and new product and solution ideas to all Bourns Divisions and Product Lines.

d. Work with IC Reference Designs where appropriate with Bourns Product Line & Marketing Managers to achieve registrations.

e. Provide Market intelligence on industry trends to Bourns Management.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

a. Develop a strong funnel of opportunities, demand creation, and move through to design win in union with territory sales

i. Direct customer contact

ii. Sales channel opportunity support including distributors and manufactures representatives, including training

iii. Product Line and Marketing collaboration

b. Facilitate New Product Development

i. Identify market needs & gaps in Bourns portfolio

ii. Provide competitive intelligence

iii. Bridge for Bourns Engineering, Product Lines, & Marketing to the Customers

c. Technical Knowledge & Expertise

i. Bourns Product Portfolio

ii. Applications, Horizontal and Vertical including, but not limited to, Power Conversion, Sensing, Circuit Protection, Communications, Industrial, Automotive and Consumer

d. Other

i. Monthly reporting

1. CRM logging

2. Market Trend reporting to Divisions

3. Technical Shows & Fairs
