Job Description:

The Nebraska Environmental Trust is seeking a detail-oriented and mission-driven Grants Administrator to manage the full lifecycle of grant administration. This position plays a critical role in advancing the Trust’s mission of conserving, enhancing, and restoring Nebraska’s natural environment by overseeing the receipt, analysis, and distribution of grant funds.

Working under the administrative direction of the Executive Director and in close collaboration with the Trust Board, the Grants Administrator ensures transparency, efficiency, and compliance in all grant-related processes.

JOB DUTIES:
• Assist the public with grant applications and grant management processes.
• Implement receipt, recording, and review procedures for grant applications.
• Provide input and support in the development and refinement of grant policies and procedures.
• Review and process grant disbursements and assess compliance of grantees with the conditions on their contracts.
• Maintain current and permanent records in compliance with record policies.
• Design, implement, and maintain data and information management systems on an online grant portal.
• Design queries, forms, reports, and tables to provide status and grant performance reports and analysis as needed.
• Supervise the Grants Assistant position.
• Maintain inventory records of grant-funded personal and real property.
• Prepare materials and summaries for the Board’s review and decisions.


 

Requirements / Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in grants management, business administration, public administration, accounting, budgeting, OR related fiscal field, and four years experience in grant management, contract administration, accounting, budgeting, OR other fiscal-related areas of work.  Additional years of experience in the area listed may substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Other: Additional training upon employment may be assigned. Must possess a valid driver’s license.


 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES: 

Knowledge of: grant processing and monitoring principles; agency and state fiscal policies, budgeting procedures, rules and regulations, statute. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat Pro, Zoom meeting setup and hosting.  

Skill in: decision-making; effective communication; quantitative and analytical review; planning and organizing.

Ability to: analyze grant reports and financial transactions for completeness and compliance; maintain records of disbursement and grant activity; effectively supervise staff; and work independently.
