Job description
This individual will work along with the rest of the plant staff to ensure that all team members are working in a Safe environment that promotes the Health and Safety of all individuals.  This position reports to the Facility and Safety Manager

 

Essential Functions/Job Duties: 

 

  • Help the Safety Manager administer training programs for best practices involved with
    Manufacturing as well as keep record of these programs.
    • Assist with the employees' compliance with company safety policies and procedures
    and record any concerns associated with employee compliance.
    • Spend much of their shift on the floor with the employees – auditing safety and safety
    practices, training, identifying issues, reporting.
    • Proactively help with the establishment of new policies to prevent future accidents.
    • Proactively walk the floor to help identify potential hazards on the job and propose
    resolutions about such hazards to management.
    • Work with the Safety team to create programs and ideas for improving the safety
    culture and for remedying any hazardous condition, practice, or potential loss-causing
    circumstance.
    • Additional duties may be assigned and/or required.

 

Personal Qualifications:

  • Bilingual in Spanish and English
  • Ability to use a computer proficiently
  • Safety and training experience is a plus
  • Attention to detail and potential hazards
  • Ability to utilize different training methods in a variety of scenarios
  • Must possess great interpersonal skills causing influence and change in safety
  • Must have a desire and willingness to learn
  • Math skills required
  • Ability to work as part of a team and maintain a positive attitude
  • Ability to adhere to schedule work hours
  • Maintain proper hygiene
  • Must be able to understand and follow verbal and written directions in English

 

Education Requirements: 

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent

Physical Requirements: 

  • Ability to physically stand, bend, squat, and lift up to 55 pounds regularly
  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
