Job Summary
St. Raphael the Archangel Catholic School is seeking a dependable, caring, and energetic Extended Care Aide to assist in providing a safe, structured, and nurturing environment for students enrolled in the school's before- and after-school care program. The Extended Care Aide supports student supervision, facilitates activities, and helps ensure the well-being of all children while promoting the mission and values of Catholic education.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervise students participating in the Extended Care Program.
- Maintain a safe, positive, and welcoming environment for all students.
- Assist with planning and facilitating age-appropriate recreational, educational, and enrichment activities.
- Monitor student behavior and reinforce program and school expectations.
- Assist students with homework and independent learning activities as needed.
- Ensure accurate student sign-in and sign-out procedures are followed.
- Communicate professionally with parents, faculty, and staff regarding student needs and concerns.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of program spaces and materials.
- Respond appropriately to student health, safety, and behavioral needs.
- Support and uphold the mission, values, and Catholic identity of the school.
- Follow all school policies regarding student safety, confidentiality, and professionalism.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to effectively supervise and engage groups of children.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with students, families, and school personnel.
- Demonstrated reliability, patience, and professionalism.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and actively supervise students throughout the program.
Preferred
- Previous experience working with children in a school, childcare, camp, or youth program setting.
- CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain certification.
- Familiarity with and support for the mission of Catholic education.
