Our headspace Port Macquarie NSW team are seeking expressions of interest from Registered Psychologists & Social Workers with FULL AHPRA/AASW registration to provide private practice services and deliver focused psychological strategies to young people aged 12-25 that have been referred to headspace Port Macquarie.
headspace is the National Youth Mental Health Foundation, acting as a one-stop-shop for young people seeking support with mental health, drug and alcohol, primary health and vocational/educational issues.
These roles come with great flexibility to ensure that you get the best of both worlds; you can maintain your existing private or public work and provide contracted services to us for as little as one day each week. This provides a great opportunity for you to expand your scope and provide additional support to the community during these difficult times.
We have an amazing multidisciplinary team who work together to support service users, GPs, Nurses and administration support. There are always referrals and no rent charges, and you’ll have the flexibility in your work with an allocated office space that is available for you to use.
What you’ll be doing
You will be providing high standard, person-centered counselling and focused psychological strategies to young people with mental health concerns. You will work closely with our multidisciplinary team members as needed to coordinate care.
As a contractor, you will have a referral base of young people who have been assessed and are ready to access services. In addition, you will be supported with;
- Full administrative support (including reception, billings, appointment bookings and reminder service)
- Fully web-based medical record software with IT support
- Co-located General Practitioners
- Access to Psychiatry services
We welcome applications from fully registered and experienced Psychologists and Social Workers who are passionate about improving the health and wellbeing of young people. We particularly encourage applications from clinicians with experience supporting young people aged 12-25 who identify as transgender and/or LGBTQIA+.
The following criteria must be met to be considered for these positions:
- Approved tertiary qualification in Psychology, with current unrestricted AHPRA registration or Social Worker
- Eligibility to provide Medicare Benefits Schedule services
- Willingness to undergo or provide full compliance documents including current Police Check, Working with Children’s Check
- Your own equipment (unless specified in your agreement)
- Proof of professional indemnity insurance and ABN
