Position Overview
The NY Event Intern will support the Events team in various tasks and projects, providing valuable hands-on experience in these key business areas. This role is ideal for a motivated and detail-oriented individual who is eager to gain practical experience in financial analysis, reporting, and organizational management.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in day-to-day organizational tasks and coordination of event production materials.
  • Assist with creative activations, brainstorming, and post-event reporting
  • Assist with speaker prep, recording, and technical assistance for virtual events
  • Help with venue scouting, walkthroughs, staffing, and other support for in-person events
  • Manage long-term and short-term research projects
  • Assist and support other departments within the organization if needed
  • Other duties as assigned
 
Who You Are
  • Interest in a career in event planning, progressive issue-based advocacy, logistics, and/or operations
  • Hospitality, events, and/or customer service backgroundStrong organizational abilities
  • Eagerness to learn and willingness to ask questions
  • Resourceful attitude and keen attention to detailExcellent written and verbal skills
  • Experience in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel is a mustProfessional phone etiquette and customer service skills
  • Well-organized with an eye for detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team with professionals at all levels
  • Ability to work well under minimal supervision
  • Ability to work on multiple projects at one time in an efficient manner
  • Ability to work in a high-energy environment

  • Available to work overtime and weekends
  • Ability to travel locally for meetings and events as needed

Internship Details

  • Year-long internship program running September through August, providing the opportunity to gain meaningful, hands-on experience throughout the academic year.

  • Approximately 20–25 hours per week (flexible schedule)

  • Flexible scheduling designed to accommodate academic commitments.

  • Paid internship at $20.00 per hour.

  • Opportunities to work additional hours during evenings and weekends based on business needs and event schedules.

  • Opportunity to extend the internship or transition into future opportunities based on performance, business needs, and academic availability.

  • Occasional evening and weekend availability may be required to support the team during events and other peak business periods, including election cycles.

 

 

This internship will support the New York team. Preference will be given to candidates located in Manhattan, Brooklyn, or Queens due to the role’s onsite support needs and occasional event-related responsibilities.
