Job Title: Landscape Estimator – Commercial Construction

Compensation:

• Base Salary: $50,000 per year
• Performance Bonus: 2% of gross profit on awarded projects you estimate
• Expected total compensation: $65,000–$90,000+ annually based on performance

We are seeking a motivated Landscape Estimator to join our team and play a key role in our continued growth.

Position Overview:

The Landscape Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for commercial landscape construction projects. This includes reviewing plans, performing quantity takeoffs, coordinating with suppliers, and assembling complete bid proposals.

This role directly contributes to company growth and offers strong performance-based income potential.

Responsibilities:

• Review construction plans, specifications, and bid documents
• Perform quantity takeoffs for landscape, irrigation, drainage, grading, and related scope
• Prepare detailed cost estimates including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors
• Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing
• Build and submit complete bid proposals
• Coordinate with suppliers such as SiteOne, Horizon, and other vendors
• Maintain organized estimate files and documentation
• Assist with project handoff to operations team after award

Qualifications:

Preferred experience:

• 2+ years landscape estimating, project management, or related construction experience
• Ability to read civil and landscape plans
• Strong Excel skills
• Knowledge of landscape construction methods and materials

Preferred but not required:

• Experience with Planswift, Bluebeam, or similar takeoff software
• Experience with commercial landscape or irrigation projects

Compensation Structure Example:

Estimator prepares and wins projects generating $500,000 in gross profit annually.

2% bonus = $10,000 bonus

Total compensation = $60,000

Higher performers estimating $1M+ gross profit can earn $70,000–$90,000+ total annually.
