Key Responsibilities
A D365 F&O Technical Architect is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing technical solutions within D365 F&O platform, acting as a key technical leader in defining the overall architecture and ensuring efficient, scalable, and customized solutions for complex business processes, leveraging their deep understanding of the platform's capabilities and best practices to guide development teams and deliver successful implementations.


Technical Architecture Design:

  • Define the technical architecture for D365 F&O implementations, including data integration, system integrations, and application development strategies

  • Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications for development teams.

  • Evaluate and recommend appropriate development tools, frameworks, and technologies within the D365 F&O ecosystem.


Development and Customization:

  • Lead the development of custom solutions, extensions, and integrations within the D365 F&O platform, including X++ coding, workflows, and data entities.

  • Ensure code quality and adherence to best practices for maintainability and performance optimization.

  • Review and guide development activities to ensure alignment with technical architecture and project goals.


System Integration:

  • Design and implement integrations between D365 F&O and other systems using APIs, data connectors, and integration tools.

  • Manage data mapping and transformation processes to ensure data integrity across systems.


Performance Optimization:

  • Identify and address performance bottlenecks in D365 F&O systems through code optimization, database tuning, and system configuration adjustments.

  • Monitor system performance and implement necessary performance improvements.


Technical Leadership:

  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to development teams, ensuring they understand the D365 F&O platform capabilities and best practices.

  • Collaborate with functional consultants to bridge the gap between business requirements and technical implementation.

Skills and Experiences:

  • Deep technical knowledge of Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations

  • Developing extensions/customisations for D365 F&O

  • Experience in the design and implementation of system integration to D365 F&O, ideally gained on Microsoft Azure Integration Architecture with Logic Apps

  • Strong technical requirements gathering skills with demonstrable experience

  • Other common Dynamics 365 competencies include ability to custom data entities and syncing techniques

  • Familiarity with security framework including ability to create new security policies

  • Creating custom workflow business processes

  • Understanding the integration options and underlying technologies available

  • Using Azure DevOps (or JIRA when required), test case planning and acceptance testing framework including release management

  • Client management skills and the ability to work with clients to develop and manage an action plan

  • Implementation experience across multiple industry sectors

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Strong proficiency in D365 F&O development, including X++ programming, data entities, and workflows.

  • Deep understanding of D365 F&O core modules (Finance, Sales, Procurement, Inventory, Production, etc.)

  • Experience with system integration methodologies and tools

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Azure and cloud-based development practices

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Proven ability to lead technical teams and deliver complex projects

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams

* Australian citizenship is Preferred (candidates must be eligible to obtain security clearance. Existing security clearance is preferred but not mandatory) but open for Permanent Resident as well.

* The role is open to Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne candidates

* You will be willing to travel interstate if required for project requirements.
