Job Description:

  • Cleans assigned patient and public areas daily, including collecting and removing trash and sanitizing all surfaces.
  • Demonstrates complete knowledge of infection control, isolation procedures, and proper operation of cleaning equipment.
  • Documents all work performed.
  • Stocks paper items, cleaning solutions and other supplies in assigned areas as necessary or designated.
  • Collects and stages soiled linen for pick up.
  • Accesses ancillary units, restrooms, offices in assigned areas.
  • Cleans and disinfects areas containing bodily fluids in accordance with facility standards.
  • Disposes of normal and biohazardous waste.
  • Utilizes equipment that includes cleaning/trash cart, and other janitorial supplies.
  • Utilizes Bed Management system to maintain productive flow of bed throughput, using hand-held technology for tracking.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Demonstrates positive communication skills and the ability to interact with the public and staff at all levels
  • Knowledge of environmental services equipment, cleaning practices, and chemicals [Preferred]
  • Ability to use specific systems relevant to departmental operations [Required]
  • Must be able to read and understand Material Safety Data Sheets, product labels, various reports, and perform simple arithmetic [Required]
  • Full knowledge of basic environmental duties [Required]


Education:

  • High School Grad or Equivalent [Preferred]

Work Experience:

  • 1+ in a medical office [Preferred]
