Job description

To manage and optimize global simulation and engineering tools across Johnson Electric, ensuring cost efficiency, standardization, and smooth operations. This role will centralize tool administration, streamline licensing, and support engineering teams worldwide.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Tool Management & Maintenance:
    • Administer global simulation and engineering tools (e.g., Ansys, JMage, Kissoft).
    • Ensure timely installation of updates and new releases.
    • Monitor tool performance and troubleshoot issues.
  • License Optimization:
    • Consolidate local licenses into global agreements where feasible.
    • Track usage and ensure compliance with licensing terms.
    • Identify cost-saving opportunities through centralization.
  • Process Automation & Efficiency:
    • Develop macros and scripts to improve workflow efficiency.
    • Support engineering teams with tool customization and automation.
  • Cloud & IT Coordination:
    • Collaborate with IT to evaluate cloud computing options for simulations.
    • Implement secure and cost-effective cloud solutions if approved.
  • Documentation & Training:
    • Maintain detailed documentation of tools, processes, and best practices.
    • Provide training and support to global engineering teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience with simulation tools (e.g., Ansys, CAD/CAE platforms).
  • Strong understanding of software licensing and cost optimization.
  • Proficiency in scripting/macros (Python, VBA, etc.).
  • Familiarity with cloud computing and IT infrastructure.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
