The impact you’ll make

At Lam, as an Engineering Technician, you play a crucial role in supporting the lab with activities including software upgrades, issue troubleshooting, tool recovery and testing of new features. You will help to ensure lab tools remain operational, issues are identified early and accurate data is captured for further analysis. Your work contributes to improved software quality and reduced risk before customer deployment. 

What you’ll do

• Perform SW upgrades by following procedures and predefined checklists 
• Execute test plans defined for feature functionality and capture results 
• Troubleshoot problems, collect data and work towards recovering the tools  
• Collaborate with development and support engineers to help fix software problems reported on the tools 
• Document observations, submit problem reports and maintain data for further analysis 

Who we’re looking for

• 2-4 years of related experience 
• Experience with software installation, maintenance and troubleshooting   
• Effective written and verbal communication skills in English. 
• Basic proficiency with computer systems and Microsoft Office applications 
• Ability to work a shift schedule to support lab 

Preferred qualifications

• Associate degree, technical certificate, diploma or higher in a technical field.
• Experience in lab environments, software support, or testing.
• Exposure to semiconductor equipment is a plus.

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
