Managing group of engineers, responsible for product development & part of regional Engineering Management Team.

As an Engineering Manager, you are responsible for the day-to-day leadership of designated customer and commodity engineering teams within the Engineering Department. The team includes Lead Engineers, Senior Engineers, Project Engineers, Product Engineers, CAD Engineers, and Resident Engineers. You will lead the teams in achieving engineering, project, and business objectives while driving product development, industrialization, and continuous improvement initiatives. You report directly to the Director Engineering.

Your Main Tasks and Responsibilities Are:

  • Lead the development and industrialization of automotive roof systems.

  • Deliver engineering objectives aligned with R&D and business goals.

  • Develop and maintain departmental strategic plans supporting company objectives.

  • Manage engineering capacity and resource planning to ensure effective project execution.

  • Lead and support engineering teams to achieve project, quality, timing, and cost targets.

  • Conduct performance reviews and support employee development.

  • Ensure departmental budgets are managed effectively.

  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement across products, processes, and ways of working.

  • Maintain key customer relationships and ensure customer satisfaction.

  • Identify project risks and implement mitigation plans.

  • Support global standardization and engineering excellence initiatives.

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Program Management, Operations, Quality, and Manufacturing

What Do We Expect From You:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical field.

  • Minimum 10 years of experience within Automotive (OEM/Tier 1) or similar industries such as Aerospace.

  • Proven experience leading engineering teams in an international environment.

  • Strong knowledge of automotive product development and industrialization processes.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational capabilities.

  • Results-oriented with a proactive and customer-focused mindset.

  • Fluent in English; German is good to have.
